Adult Beginners Salsa & Bachata Dance Classes
...no dance experience or partner needed!
Welcome to En Motion Dance School!
Have you always
If so, Salsa & Bachata might just be the perfect hobby for you!
Street Latin social dances where you dance freestyle with a partner, Salsa and Bachata are a great way to connect with people from all walks of life through music and dance.
These two dances have also helped many people grow more confident, get fitter, and regain a sense of passion for life!
This is Salsa!
Salsa is more energetic, playful and flirtatious. Partners dance further apart with lots of quick turns and footwork danced to faster tempo music.
...and this is Bachata!
Bachata is slower, sexier, and more sensual, generally danced hip-to-hip with more upper body movement.
Why you must try Salsa or Bachata at least once!
It's a great hobby to meet new people
Connect with new people from all walks of life without any expectations as you both lose yourselves in the flow of Salsa & Bachata.
It's a workout that doesn't feel like an exercise!
Keep fit as you burn up to 400 calories an hour as you groove to Latin songs - all without having to drag yourself onto the treadmill!
It's lots and lots of fun!
The uplifting music, dynamic movements, and lively ambiance are a perfect combination to let yourself loose after a hard day at work.
...hear from our students themselves!

I was always loved to learn salsa dancing but in my country people like me have less opportunities. therefor it was always in my bucket list. But after migrating to Singapore and joining with En Motion academy i was so happy and excited at the same time to learn salsa. I completed level one and i am very happy about the way they teach us and their patience. They pay equal attention to all the students and treat everybody in the same manner. I would recommend the academy to any of my friends who loves dancing. Also the instructors are very friendly which is good. Good luck En Motion!!!

05/15/2021This is my second month dancing with EM and it has been a great experience so far. I have attended several classes by different instructors and they ensured that everyone feels included. Quality of instructors is also quite consistent which ensured that quality is maintained across all classes. Instructors are also dedicated in teaching, as seen from how they go beyond the mile to respond to students' queries after class. Classes are well planned, whereby new moves are introduced every lesson. During class, instructors go around correcting students' moves which is of great help esp for beginners. They create a safe platform to lesrn as they wun "scold" us for not doing a move right or asking questions. We are also allowed to film a dance review video at the end of each lesson which we can use to practise at home. This is very useful to catchup. Group chats are created to share such videos. Feedback provided by students is also taken seriously by the sch. Socials (a platform for students across all levels ti dance together) held wkly are fun even for beginner students as many advanced dancers (leads) are willing to dance with us and we can learn more from them. Socials also serve as a good platform to apply what we learn in class and hone our dance skills. Also, the sch holds wkend open classes at an additional fee where we can learn new moves and improve further. Overall, this dance sch stands out for being nurturing and conducive to beginners. Also, the sch has a strong dance community where most people are open to getting to know each other and most are understanding of each other's dance proficiency, which makes it comfortable to learn dance here.

12/15/2023Best decision ever made during the pandemic. First school that came on the suggested list with plenty of good reviews. Didn't regret attending this school at all.😍😍 Friendly and helpful instructors and I'm already planning to complete all levels of Salsa and Bachata. Just like Gary (the founding father of En Motion) says, All you need is to have fun than worrying so much about the moves. All are welcomed regardless of age or background. Highly recommended!💛💛💛💛💛 #walkindanceout

02/15/2024Excellent location, conveniently located right in the heart of Orchard Road. En Motion teaches different levels of dance, from basics to advanced techniques. And I love that the the trainers do not make you feel shy about dancing at all. Beginners will feel welcomed. The trainers break down the steps in each lesson to ensure new dancers are able to understand everything while having fun. Absolutely love En Motion, I look forward to going for class every time, it's the highlight of my week. The instructors are cheerful and jovial so everyone's spirits are always high, but they're also extremely patient and meticulous. Unlike other places, they try to keep a good ratio between leads and follows so no one is left waiting for a partner for too long. I also hugely appreciate their efforts to keep us all involved in dancing even during the COVID Phase 1 by having free online classes and competitions. Huge fan of their regular flurry of open classes and practicas to keep things interesting so there's always something new to learn!

Even if you are new or experienced in dance , it won't be an issue at all! Location is convenient too so maybe take a trial class and give dancing a chance ;)

04/15/2024It's not everyday you see locals dancing Bachata with passion and grace comparable to the Latin world. I had my doubts at first. What sort of local guys would join an activity like this? Would our Asian reservations get in the way? Is it truly possible to dance so intimately while being professional? En Motion quelled all my doubts and I had so much fun along the way. On to Level 3 courses now, here's to saving 2020!

Been to other studios for trial and decided to learn social dance here, easily accessible, one of the more economical studios; and very well lit with great sound systems. However, the highlight here are the amazing and friendly instructors who make learning dances fun! Highly recommended for anyone keen to learn social dancing!

“…this studio introduced me to the land of Street Latin dance, and brought out the interest I never knew I had… classes are fun and energetic – this would not be possible without the patient and knowledgeable instructors… a great place to chill and unwind, especially after a hard day’s work… what makes it most comforting is that you don’t need any prior dance experience to get started on classes!

Most definitely! Our trial classes are for beginners who want to pick up Salsa & Bachata. 9 out of 10 of our students started with no dance background as well so you don't have to worry. Our instructors also make it their job to go slow and bring in good vibes so you can learn the steps at your own pace.
Nope! You can choose to bring a friend, but can also attend the class solo if you'd like as we’ll rotate partners between songs so everyone gets to dance with each other.
Come in a comfortable outfit like workout or gym attire that allows you to move freely! Jazz shoes/ dance sneakers/track shoes/ballet flats/heels with back ankle straps work for ladies and for gentlemen, track shoes/normal covered shoes do the job. No flip flops though!
If you have prior Street Latin Dance background (Salsa, Bachata, etc.), our instructors can conduct a brief 3-min assessment to advise you on which class suits your level best. Let us know in the Google Forms!
If you have a dance background in other styles like Latin Ballroom, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, etc. we do recommend you to start from Beginner Level 1. Street Latin Dance is a unique genre, with fundamentals very different from other dance styles. Always good to build a strong foundation in a new dance before moving to a higher level!
